Maximise your child's potential for learning and curiosity in their precious, formative early years, through participation in probably the most comprehensive introduction and launch pad for budding musical explorers here on the South Coast.
Fundamental Instrumental is a class dedicated to little ones who haven't started learning an instrument yet. Our kindergarten class takes the shape of short project based 3 week courses - enabling the all-important benefits of weekly progression and development of new skills gathered via musical games on pitch, rhythm and movement - with a focus on listening and ensemble playing; offering an early experience of working together as part of a musical team.
Running alongside all the other Youth Music Wessex activities, these sessions place our new musical explorers right "in the thick of it" when it comes to everything "Wessex". Participants will have the opportunity not only to see and hear the YMWes ensembles rehearsing each week, but also be able to pop in and sit within a real live symphony orchestra - the WYSO, see and hear the instruments being played up close AND meet the musicians. Budding musical newbies will rub shoulders with youngsters who have already embarked on their own musical journeys. They'll meet all the instruments, maximising their chances of finding out which one "speaks" to them.
All under one roof, all at the same time, with instrument hire & lessons on site... Get ready, your child's musical adventure begins here in "Wessex"!
