Do you know a youngster wanting to say Hello to a Cello? Well here's their chance! With bows at the ready, Youth Music Wessex's new introductory class for beginner cellists, kicks off in October 2026.
Offering all the fun of group learning, the option to enhance progression with additional one-to-one "lessons with the pros", instrument loans, bursary support and for professional guidance on just about all-things-cello - including sign-posting for future one to one lessons with local teachers as the class participants progress, the Youth Music Wessex's "Hello Cello!" class is set to start many floorboards in Wessex rumbling!
Taking place within Youth Music Wessex's lively Saturday morning schedule, Hello Cello participants will be surrounded by musical activities. They'll have the opportunity to meet, watch and listen to so many other young musicians around them, giving their own activities a wonderful sense of purpose, and when they're ready, they have the option to join a YMWes ensemble themselves!
Recommended age range:
7-10 years (with one to one lessons available for older starters)
