Hannah Jennings – Flute/Piccolo Hannah was born and raised in Bournemouth and first started showing interest in the flute from age 9. She performed in the Wessex ensembles and Wessex Youth Orchestra throughout her teenage years. In 2012 she was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where, under the tuition of Sarah Newbold, Jonathan Burgess and Matthew Featherstone, she achieved a first class degree and a Masters in Orchestral Performance. Particular highlights included the Daniel Emerlyn Davies Award, reaching the Finals of the Kelleher Woodwind Prize 2016 and the Colleges’ Concerto Competition in 2017. Professionally, Hannah has appeared as soloist with Magna Sinfonia performing Ibert’s Flute Concerto and freelance orchestral work with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Nova Foresta Players and Bath Philharmonia. |
Hannah's teaching work continues to expand, teaching both flute and piano in schools across the area and she has recently been appointed Flute Professor at the Royal Marines School of Music in Portsmouth. We're delighted that Hannah is willing to extend her work to include flute and piccolo lessons through YMWes.
