The Wessex Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) - Saturdays 9.15am - 12.30pm

The WYSO carries forward, the traditions and ethos of orchestral training for young musicians in Wessex. The orchestra offers "the complete package"; top quality professional training on a weekly basis, lively and detailed rehearsals - equipping the WYSO team with the confidence, knowledge and knowhow to be able to successfully tackle some of the most exciting symphonic programmes in the repertoire. Combining this rehearsal approach with regular performance opportunities in professional venues - both locally and beyond, assures that this young orchestra truly stands out from the crowd.
International connections remain an important feature for the WYSO. Recently striking new "twinning" friendships with similar youth orchestras abroad, the WYSO has new projects in both the digital and live "pipelines", with international performances planned for 2025.
