Your young musician will be welcomed and may enrol at any point in the season. We offer a two week no-obligation trial-period to all prospective new members, prior to enrolling. If joining beyond a half term, fees will be adjusted to reflect this.
Become a member of YMWes from as little as £5 per class. See below for details on how to qualify for the reduced membership fee.
YMWes Membership Fees
2025-26 Season
Single provision Membership (non-instrumental):
(Covering membership of music theory classes)
Standard Membership (instrumental):
(Covering Youth Orchestra membership or up to 2 YMWes provisions including: Strings, Wind Bands, Music Theory, Recorders etc.)
Standard-Plus Membership:
Robbie Bowering Brass Class Membership:
Bursaries - partial or full (covering all aspects of the class i.e. class participation and/or instrument hire and/or lessons with the pros) available to those meeting eligibility criteria - for further information and to apply, please click here
"Fundamental Instrumental" Mini Courses:
Payments can be made in cash, in-person card payment (subject to additional card transaction fee) or via BACs

YMWes Membership Fees
2025-26 Season

- £75* per term (10 weeks) *reduced to £60 if payment (or confirmation of bursary application) made within 14 days of first attendance.
Standard Membership (instrumental):
(Covering Youth Orchestra membership or up to 2 YMWes provisions including: Strings, Wind Bands, Music Theory, Recorders etc.)
- £130* per term (minimum 10 weeks) * reduced to £95 if payment (or confirmation of bursary application) made within 14 days of first attendance.
Standard-Plus Membership:
- A 3rd YMWes provision can be added to your membership for an additional £45 per term.
Robbie Bowering Brass Class Membership:
Bursaries - partial or full (covering all aspects of the class i.e. class participation and/or instrument hire and/or lessons with the pros) available to those meeting eligibility criteria - for further information and to apply, please click here
- class participation - £50 per term (10 weeks)
- optional instrument hire - £20* per term *discounted to £10 per term for first 12 month hire period
- option of up to 3 x 20 minute one to one "lessons with the pros" per term - £10 per lesson
"Fundamental Instrumental" Mini Courses:
- class participation - £15** per 3 week course ** includes additional one term's free participation in the Wessex Recorder beginner class
