​Leading something of a double life, the YMWes and WYSO Director - Susanna Riddell, is also a cellist, dividing her time between orchestral conducting and her work at Youth Music Wessex, and performing and recording as a cellist - both nationally and internationally, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata Tchaikovsky and more. 

Like so many performing musicians, Susanna has taught cello throughout her playing career, and in recent years has extended her teaching schedule to include work at Cheltenham Ladies College, Rachmaninoff Music Academy, Walhampton and Millfield Schools, teaching youngsters at all playing levels - from beginner through to LTCL diploma level. 

She can also be found on her YouTube channel Susanna Riddell - the Young Musicians' Guide, where she offers tips, advice and guidance for young musicians and parents alike on how to get the most out of learning and making music, alongside more cello specific exam syllabus practice tutorials for young cellists all over the world!
